| The Health Information and Resources Library provides a professional library information and resource service to Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust staff, and health promoters in Manchester. |
| The Library combines the expertise of the MPHDS Resource and Information Service, and the NHS Manchester PCT Library service, which merged in late 2009 to create a comprehensive service providing resources for health promoters as well as a professional information service to enhance the evidence based practice and research of staff of the PCT. The Library then transferred to Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust following the changes under Transforming Community Services in early 2011. We now offer services to staff of the Mental Health Trust, and health promoters in Manchester. All NHS staff in Manchester are also eligible to access our basic services.

We support your evidence-based practice by providing access to information, and have the resources to support your health promotion work. We provide the following services, subject to your category of membership.
- Books, reports, journals and multimedia resources to borrow
- Health promotion models and teaching resources to borrow
- Enquiry service
- Literature searching service
- Training on searching the Healthcare Databases
- Current awareness: email bulletins of new information
- Electronic resources, available through NHS Athens
- Access to documents through our inter-library loan service
- Leaflets and posters on a range of health promotion topics
